Concept Design
The Museum of Almaty occupies a historic building designed by French architect Paul Gourdet in 1892 for the Vernensky Orphanage. Today, it showcases the history and heritage of the Almaty region through 11 exhibition galleries. The project aims to modernize the museum, making it more accessible and engaging with a welcoming entrance and contemporary exhibition spaces. An international team of French museum architecture and scenography specialists supports the project.

Minimalist space
The exhibition spaces are designed with a minimalist approach to minimize visual distractions and keep the focus on the artworks and scenography. A carefully balanced use of natural and artificial lighting enhances each gallery, creating an immersive and engaging visitor experience.
